With the objective of promoting physical activity and healthier lifestyles through basketball, the Hoops+Health programme will enhance basketball courts and provide workshops for coaches and young players in Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Vietnam throughout 2024. In Kuala Ampang, we revitalised the local basketball court to improve accessibility and safety with comprehensive renovations works including resurfacing, repair, repainting and enhancements to facility assets.

The opening of the refurbished court on 23 May 2024 was marked by speeches from Chan Teck Keng, Vice President of the Residents Association, Adam Burgess, Beyond Sport Programme Director, and our CEO Raymond Lew. The event included a lively lion dance and a 3-on-3 match between the Sun Life Malaysia Team and local youth, celebrating the court as a safe sports hub for the community.

It not only commemorated a new sports facility, but also demonstrated the importance of collaboration and community involvement in developing a dynamic sports culture.
