Sun Life Malaysia recently unveiled the ‘Insure or Unsure: Sun Life Malaysia Insurance Literacy Survey’ 2024/2025, a study involving 1,040 Malaysians from various income levels and regions. The survey highlighted gaps in Malaysians' understanding of insurance/takaful while emphasising the need for legacy planning.
The event saw the presence of Raymond Lew, President/Country Head of Sun Life Malaysia, who delivered an insightful opening speech. Also in attendance were Irina Lim, COO; Alvis Wee, CDMO, over 40 advisors and representatives from 14 media outlets, such as Berita Harian, The Edge, and Sinar Harian.
The highlight of the event was the panel discussion featuring Alvis Wee, Siew Yuen Tuck, CEO of Jirnexu/RinggitPlus, and Dr. Malar, a medical practitioner and influencer. The panelists shared valuable insights on the survey findings, offering diverse perspectives on the state of legacy planning in Malaysia.
There was also an engaging Q&A session, providing advisors and media representatives the opportunity to interact with the panelists and deepening the dialogue on legacy planning. This initiative is part of Sun Life Malaysia InsureLit Campaign, aimed at elevating Malaysians’ financial knowledge to make informed financial decisions for a more secure future.
