Sun Life Malaysia Triumphs with Gold at the Putra Aria Brand Awards 2024

On 16 January, Sun Life Malaysia achieved a significant achievement, winning the prestigious Gold Award for ‘Banking, Investment, and Insurance’ award category at the Putra Aria Brand Awards 2024 – the widely known ‘money-cannot-buy’ People’s Choice Award. 

Our President/Country Head, Raymond Lew, along with MCM members, received the award, recognising the collective effort behind this success.

This win is especially meaningful, as it represents a leap from last year’s Bronze Award and reflects the growing trust Malaysians place in Sun Life Malaysia's commitment to elevating its brand excellence and Purpose.

Empowering Success: Agency Engagement Session 2025

On 7 January, Sun Life Malaysia hosted an inspiring engagement session with Kevin Strain, President & CEO of Sun Life, Manjit Singh, President of Sun Life Asia and Randy Lianggara, President of Emerging Markets, Sun Life Asia. This special event provided Sun Life's advisors with a unique opportunity to connect directly with these top leaders, gaining valuable insights into the company’s vision and strategies for continued success.

The event featured keynote speeches from Raymond Lew, President/Country Head of Sun Life Malaysia, and Kevin Strain, who shared their perspectives on Sun Life's commitment to empowering both Clients and advisors. Their remarks emphasised innovation, growth, and Client-centric solutions, setting an engaging tone for the day.

A highlight was a dynamic forum featuring three of Sun Life’s top advisors, who shared their success stories and best practices. Their insights into effective strategies and approaches proved both inspirational and offered actionable advice for other attendees.

A Fitting Finale: InsureLit School Programme Ends on A High Note
On 15 January 2025, the InsureLit School Programme concluded its journey at SK Bandar Sri Damansara 1, the very school where it all began four months ago in September 2024. This special session, which marked the grand finale of the initiative, brought together 20 Sun Lifers and 200 students for a memorable and impactful day.  

The programme promoted financial literacy through engaging activities, making insurance/takaful and financial planning fun and meaningful. Guided by Sun Lifers, students learned how to inculcate good money habits - Earn, Save and Protect.  

This final session celebrated the collective efforts of Sun Lifers and participating schools in fostering financial savvy next generation. Over the course of the programme, 1,087 students from eight schools benefited from the dedication of 94 Sun Lifers who took time off from their work to volunteer as programme facilitators. It was a poignant moment, reflecting on the programme’s impactful journey and its legacy of empowering students with knowledge that will last a lifetime.  Heartfelt thanks go out to our dedicated Sun Lifers, whose commitment made this initiative a success and who continue to inspire the leaders of tomorrow.

The 2025 Chinese New Year Mini Campaign, ‘Turn Ong Your Life’, highlights the essence of the festive season by embracing its rich cultural traditions and values. Designed to inspire a deeper understanding and appreciation of Chinese New Year, the campaign features a range of engaging activities and content.

From meaningful greetings and customs to interactive games and festive music, the initiative brings joy, sparks curiosity, and connects individuals with the significance of the celebrations.

This campaign celebrates prosperity, unity, and hope, reflecting the spirit of the Year of the Dragon. Through creative storytelling and cultural appreciation, ‘Turn Ong Your’ Life sets the tone for a vibrant and meaningful Chinese New Year.

Growing Good Fortune: Mandarin Orange Tree Workshop
Leading up to Chinese New Year celebration, Sun Lifers embraced the festive spirit with a hands-on Mandarin Orange Tree Twist Stick Workshop on 22 January at the Mezzanine Floor. Led by Shirley Ong, founder of S’perience, 60 Sun Lifers crafted intricate twist stick trees, a symbol of prosperity and good fortune.

This engaging session allowed Sun Lifers to express their creativity and reinforced the values of patience and dedication - reflecting the traditions of the season. As the vibrant trees took shape, so did the festive excitement, marking a meaningful start to the Lunar New Year celebrations.
