Ringgit and Sense Event: Legacy Planning – Securing Your Family’s Future, Today
On 28 November, Sun Life Malaysia partnered with BFM Radio to host an insightful Ringgit and Sense Event at One World Hotel, emphasising the importance of legacy planning. The event attracted 80 attendees, including working professionals and business owners. 

Moderated by Wong Shou Ning, producer and presenter of the Ringgit & Sense Show, the morning began with an engaging panel discussion on ‘The Importance of Legacy Planning’, featuring including Felix Neoh, Director of Financial Planning at Finwealth Management, and Prisilla Chong, a lawyer at Prisilla Chong Advocate & Solicitor. 

In the second session, our CDMO, Alvis Wee, along with Head of Product and Pricing, Nicholas Lee, took to the stage to discuss how insurance and takaful can serve as multigenerational wealth-building tools.

The event concluded with a thoughtful exchange of ideas, leaving attendees equipped with practical tips and knowledge to take meaningful steps in their legacy planning journey. By addressing diverse aspects of financial and legal preparation, the session empowered participants to make informed decisions that align with their values and aspirations, ensuring peace of mind for themselves and their loved ones.

The event is part of our year-long InsureLit campaign aimed at helping to elevate Malaysians’ insurance and takaful knowledge.
 
Nurturing Future Financial Minds: InsureLit School Programme November Recap
Our flagship youth financial literacy outreach, InsureLit School Programme, continued in November. On 12 November, 15 Sun Lifers engaged with 97 enthusiastic students from SK Jalan Sg. Besi to teach them fun ways to save, earn and protect their money. 

Guided by the Sun Lifers, the students delved into the importance of financial planning, making the session both educational and memorable. This successful event showcased Sun Life’s commitment to empowering young minds and increasing financial literacy through our InsureLit board game, which made learning exciting and enjoyable for everyone involved.

A Celebration of Light and Wellness: Sun Life Malaysia HR Festivities
Deepavali Celebration 2024 at Sun Life Malaysia!
The Deepavali Celebration, held on 7 November at M Floor and Level 1, brought together over 700 Sun Lifers for a vibrant and meaningful gathering. 

Our CEO, Raymond Lew, graced the event, underscoring the importance of unity and inclusive culture within the organisation. 

Sun Lifers were treated to various engaging activities, including a fun game of "Name the Bollywood Movies – Deepavali Edition" and the chance to express their creativity by making rangoli as well as scrumptious Deepavali sweet and savoury dishes.  Highlight of the event was the captivating performances by Senada Tari and Bhangra musicians, adding to the festive atmosphere.

With its warm and celebratory atmosphere, the event allowed Sun Lifers to connect, celebrate, and embrace the cultural richness of Deepavali.

Wellness Festival - Move, Relax, Thrive!
On 19 November, the M Floor and Level 1 at HQ office transformed into a vibrant space for the Q4 Wellness Festival, themed ‘Move, Relax, Thrive!’. The event saw 400 Sun Lifers participating in activities prioritising physical, mental, and financial well-being.

In conjunction with World Diabetes Month, the event also focused on diabetes awareness and prevention, reinforcing our commitment to slowing the prevalence of diabetes.

The festival featured activities such as Physio Quick Fix, CSR Massage, In-Body Composition Assessments, Zumba versus Tradi-dance sessions, and interactive wellness games like the Sugar Obstacle Race and Sugar Swap Challenge. Employees also took the opportunity to use their EngageLife points to redeem items such as fruit teas and lemonade from TFTea, and pure chicken essence from Beacon Chicken for a healthier lifestyle.

Through this initiative, Sun Life Malaysia demonstrated its dedication to supporting employees in living healthier lives, emphasising the importance of prevention and well-being in the workplace.

This November, a series of vibrant celebrations and engagement activities were held to honour outstanding achievements and strengthen collaborative ties with our advisors and partners.

Celebrating Success: Sun Life Malaysia Summit Convention 2023 
From 28 October to 2 November, 20 Sun Life Malaysia's top advisors, led by CEO Raymond Lew and CAO Ashley Goh, embarked on an unforgettable incentive trip to Turkey. The group explored iconic landmarks like Cappadocia and Istanbul, celebrating their achievements in a truly memorable way.

Recognising Top Performers: Q3 CEO Awards
On 7 November, the Q3 CEO Awards was held at ASADOR V, Menara Hap Seng, to celebrate and recognise the exceptional achievements of our top-performing advisors. The event brought together 88 qualifiers, including Sun MDRTs, Diamond Producers, and Agency Leaders, for an evening dedicated to honouring excellence. Key attendees included CEO, Raymond Lew, and COO, Irina Lim. Also in attendance were CDMO, Alvis Wee, along with the CAOs, Ashley Goh and David Lim.

The evening spotlighted winners across four award categories, with special recognition given to our Top of the Table (TOT) achievers: Zainudin Bin Kamaruddin, Mohamad Hasfifi Aizat Bin Ab Kodim, and Nuratikah Binti Zahairudin. These high-achieving advisors exemplify our commitment to creating lasting Client’s impact, perseverance, and a passion for delivering bolder results.

Strengthening Partnerships: CIMB-Sun Life Malaysia Banca Dialogue 2.0 
On 12 November, Sun Life Malaysia hosted the CIMB-Sun Life Malaysia Banca Dialogue 2.0. This quarterly initiative brought together over 80 attendees, including senior management from both organisations and CIMB top-performing sales leaders for 2024. 

The dialogue session featured key addresses from our CEO, Raymond Lew and Head of Consumer Banking at CIMB, Daniel Cheong, who set the tone for the session. Also in attendance were COO, Irina Lim and CDMO, Alvis Wee. The event concluded with a recognition moment, where the top-performing sales staff and leaders were celebrated for their achievements, motivating them to maintain high standards and continue their success.

The CIMB-Sun Life Malaysia Banca Dialogue 2.0 reinforced the strong partnership between CIMB and Sun Life Malaysia, highlighting their shared commitment to growth and excellence in the bancassurance sector.
 
Let’s Bowl with Sun Life Malaysia!
Sun Life Malaysia was proud to participate in the Asian Institute of Insurance (Aii) Bowling Tournament, a dynamic event sponsored by the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM).

Held on 9 November at Sunway Megalanes, the tournament welcomed 175 participants from across the insurance sector, creating an energetic atmosphere of camaraderie and friendly competition.

Our team clinched the third place of an RM800 cash prize along with a medal - testament to our dedication and teamwork.

This event not only celebrated the competitive spirit within the industry but also championed sportsmanship and collaboration. More than just a tournament, it provided an excellent platform for networking, strengthening partnerships, and fostering unity across the insurance community.
 
Ignite and Inspire: Fireside Chat with Sun Life Leaders
In conjunction with the visit of Melissa Kennedy, Sun Life EVP & Chief Legal and Public Policy Officer, and Gavin Sinclair, Sun Life General Counsel & Head of Strategic Transactions – Asia, we hosted a Fireside Chat on 27 November at the M Floor for our Top 70 leaders and senior management. Both shared their thoughts and expertise on navigating the complexities of governance, and the importance of compliance and integrity. Our COO, Irina Lim, offered a local perspective on operational excellence, with Chief Actuary Patrick Chow moderating the session.
