The roadshow debuted in Johor Bharu at the AEON Mall Tebrau City, Johor, from 14 to 19 May. Upcoming is Penang (19 to 23 June) and culminating in two exciting locations in the Klang Valley in August and September respectively.
The response in Johor Bharu has been outstanding with our brand connecting with thousands of shoppers over the 5-day event. We were excited to bring joy and a variety of fun activities, including exclusive rewards in the form of vouchers and Sun Life’s merchandise 🎁, free health checks by our healthcare partner and a special 6-in-1 eye health assessment conducted by MOG Eyewear.
A highlight of our roadshow is the giant-sized InsureLit board game, designed to make learning about insurance and takaful literacy fun and engaging. Our respected advisors were also on hand to offer personalised financial protection consultations.

On May 8, we hosted our Q2 2024 Town Hall and Hari Raya celebration themed ‘Kecoh-kecoh Bolder Raya’ at the Premiera Hotel, and it was truly memorable!
The celebration begun with a heartfelt address and insightful business updates by our CEO, Raymond Lew. Our talented Sun Lifers then took over the stage and dazzled everyone with a lively performance, showcasing their incredible spirit, talent and energy.
A standout moment was the exhilarating TikTok Raya Challenge video showcase which sparked laughter and delight as we enjoyed the creative videos crafted by our colleagues. The excitement continued with a dynamic dance performance, capturing the vibrant essence of Raya's festive spirit.
Bittersweet farewell to Mr Ho Teck Seng
The event also doubled up as a special farewell for Mr Ho Teck Seng, our former DCEO who will soon be taking on the role as of President Director of Sun Life Indonesia.
With bittersweet thoughts, Sun Lifers bid him a fond farewell with various heartfelt videos. We also presented him with a fragrant Pulut Kuning cake, which symbolises prosperity and is also Mr. Ho's favourite dessert.
In his farewell speech, Mr. Ho expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support he received during his time with Sun Life Malaysia. He also shared his excitement about starting a new chapter with Sun Life Indonesia, carrying with him treasured memories and valuable experiences.
Once again, a big thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event a tremendous success!

The sound of basketballs dribbling filled the air as Sun Life’s Hoops+Health Basketball Court in Kuala Ampang was officially unveiled.
This event marked a significant milestone for the Hoops+Health programme, a joint initiative by Sun Life and Beyond Sport, aimed at promoting youth wellness through basketball and foster healthier lifestyles in local communities.
Hoops+Health programme is a regional programme to be implemented across six markets in Asia throughout 2024. It truly reflects Sun Life’s business purpose to inspiring healthy, active lifestyles for the local communities.
Chan Teck Keng, Vice President of the Residents Association of Kuala Ampang kickstarted the event with a welcome speech and he was followed by remarks from Adam Burgess, Beyond Sport Programme Director. Our CEO, Raymond Lew, then spoke, highlighting the value of this court in providing a safe and accessible space young people and the local residents to engage in sports.
The audience, which included our Management Team and members of the Kuala Ampang community, also enjoyed a vibrant lion dance performance before the ribbon-cutting ceremony that officially marked the opening of the brand-new court.
A highlight of the event was the thrilling 3-on-3 friendly match between the Sun Lifers Team and the Kuala Ampang Youth Team. The competition was fierce, and the crowd's enthusiastic cheers spurred the young local players to showcase their impressive skills on the court.
The opening of the Kuala Ampang Basketball Court not only commemorated a new sports facility, but also demonstrated the importance of collaboration and community involvement in developing a dynamic sports culture.

On 8 May, the St. Regis Kuala Lumpur Hotel was buzzing with excitement as 420 Bancassurance and Bancatakaful high achievers gathered for the highly anticipated Annual Banca Award 2023. This grand event recognised the top performers from the CIMB Banca Outstanding SuperStar (BOSS) and Banca Sales Convention, honouring both their professional and personal achievements.
The evening commenced with the grand entrance of the VIPs, followed by special acknowledgements from our esteemed leaders. Our CEO, Raymond Lew, along with Head, Consumer Banking, Daniel Cheong, Co-CEO, Group Commercial Banking, Ahmad Shazli Kamarulzaman and Co-CEO, Group Commercial Banking, Lawrence Loh expressed their profound appreciation for the outstanding achievements of all the nominees.

On 16 May, Sun Life Malaysia hosted a group of 40, Year Three Actuarial Science students from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). This engaging initiative aimed to expose the students to real working environment and the practical aspects of Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Product Pricing and Reporting.
The day kicked off with a warm welcome speech by our Chief Risk Officer, Lim Chin Har, who set an enthusiastic tone for the activities ahead. After the introduction, the students participated in a sharing session with representatives from Sun Life’s Actuarial, Product & Pricing, Risk Management and Strategic Analytics teams. Sun Lifers shared their experiences which gave the students a glimpse into their day-to-day responsibilities and challenges faced.
