Helping Malaysians to Take Control of Diabetes
Over the years, Sun Life Malaysia has been an active voice in raising diabetes prevention awareness through a string of community education and empowerment programmes.

In conjunction with Diabetes Awareness Month in November 2022, we travelled the streets of Greater Kuala Lumpur to distribute 3,000 sunny health packs to the public with an aim to further awareness on diabetes prevention.  The 5-day distribution started from Bukit Bintang to Pasar Seni and all the way to Puchong IOI Mall. These nutritional packs contained diabetes-friendly snacks full of fiber, protein, and healthy fats.

We also teamed up with HOPE worldwide Malaysia to host a series of educational diabetes talks, centered on diabetes prevention through healthier eating and lifestyle choices. The first leg of the sessions attracted a total of 60 individuals from the underserved community. The participants also took home a healthy food basket filled with organic goods. The second leg of the talks is scheduled for December.

The educational initiative is aligned with the theme for this year's World Diabetes Day - Education to Protect Tomorrow. Together, we could help the communities gain a better understanding of diabetes and for them to better manage their health to prevent diabetes.
