The Canadian High Commissioner, His Excellency (H.E.) Wayne Robson paid a courtesy visit to Sun Life Malaysia on 11 May 2022. Welcoming H.E. was our CEO, Raymond Lew and the MCM members where they had a fruitful bilateral discussion centered around the progressive role of the industry in driving growth and innovation, as well as the role of Asian-Canadian companies in shaping and diversifying the landscape in Malaysia.
 
He was appointed as High Commissioner in Malaysia back in December 2021. Mr. Robson has served abroad across Asia in Ho Chi Minh City, Tokyo, Seoul, and Canberra. In Canada, Mr. Robson has held a number of positions, including executive director of the Multi-Sectors Division and director of the International Trade Finance Division, both in Ottawa, and regional director of the Vancouver Regional Office.
 

Raya Bergaya Celebration – 25 May 2022
With the easing of the pandemic restrictions, this year’s Hari Raya was undeniably extra special and lively. It was abuzz with positive vibes and excitements after 2 years of subdued celebrations.
 
On 25 May 2022, Sun Lifers reunited over the ‘Raya Bergaya Celebration’ event to enjoy what we have missed most about Raya traditions – putting on the best Raya outfits, enjoying the delicacies and sharing laughter. Held at the Premiera Hotel, the event doubled up as the Q2 2022 Townhall.
 
The celebration began with a special address from our CEO, Raymond Lew, who came dressed elegantly in a blue baju melayu, to add to the festivities. He thanked Sun Lifers for delivering another dream quarter and reminded everyone to double down their efforts to make 2022 a Bolder & Better year.
 
To bring on the Hari Raya mood, the hall was decorated ala traditional kampung house style to evoke a sense of nostalgia. Sun Lifers were treated to a scrumptious buffet spread including satay, lemang, rendang, assorted kuihs and desserts.
 
It was all smiles for all as there were also various entertainments such as special singing stage performances by Sun Life talents, traditional ‘Zapin Melayu Johor’ dance, lucky draw, and a best-dressed contest.
 
Rah-Rah Raya Event (12 May 2022)
Over 80 mid-and senior- management of SLM join our CEO and DCEO for a day of Raya fun at the ‘Sun Lifer’s Rah-Rah Raya Private Event & Game Show’, held at the First Avenue office on 12 May 2022.
 
Besides yummy Raya delicacies, guests were also invited to join in various traditional games including congkak game, batik painting and more.
